OCD Counselling

What is ocd?

OCD involves a pattern of unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges (obsessions) that create distress, along with repetitive behaviours or mental rituals (compulsions) that temporarily reduce the anxiety.

People often know their thoughts or rituals don’t fully make sense, yet the cycle feels impossible to break. OCD is not a personality quirk or being “extra neat” — it’s a real condition that can interfere with daily life, relationships, and self-esteem.

“You are not your thoughts. You are what you choose to do.”

Who I Work With

I support children, teens, and adults who experience:

  • Persistent intrusive thoughts (about harm, contamination, morality, relationships, identity, or other themes).

  • Repetitive behaviours (washing, checking, counting, repeating, seeking reassurance).

  • Mental rituals (reviewing, praying, neutralizing thoughts, avoiding triggers).

  • High anxiety or guilt linked to intrusive thoughts.

  • Family members seeking guidance on how to respond with compassion while reducing accommodation.
